Holla everybody! Here's an update of the ACE Camp we had at Jerantut, Pahang for those who didn't go and also for THE BOSS :D
DAY 1
Everyone got to the school with some minorities not on time and off we go to Tanjong Pagar Railway Station to Jerantut,Pahang. When we first got on the train it was swelteringly hot it was like a mini sauna and there was absolutely no ventilation till we opened the window which helped a teeny bit. The train's lighting and airconditiong doesn't seem to be working pretty well as it kept going off and it stopped after travelling for a bit. Okay I shall summarize the whole thing.
DAY 2
Everyone had little sleep and weren't used to sleeping in the train so when we reach Jerantut Station at about 3.35am, everyone was shagged. Then we took a bus back to Tekam Plantation Resort and had a briefing at the make shirt 'Arena' (which was just an empty space) Then we were assigned to our chalets according to register numbers. There were 8 people to 1 chalet.
The chalet was better than what we had expected in a camp, it has an aircon and proper bathroom facilities even though 8 people had to share one bathroom =__= Everyone cleaned up for a bit and went to catch some sleep before we had to gather for breakfast at 7 oclock.
CRISISSSSS @ breakfast !! There were no breakfast prepared for everyone cause the vendor forgot to prepare for us +____+ Ended up we have some kind of rationing with everyone getting different food like roti prata, fried rice and this rice with rendang thingy (I think). Which was not very filling, in the end some girls brought us some lovely fresh and warm doughnuts (for girls only =D) After breakfast everyone rested till 11am and then depart to various destination for activities. Some of the girls were in Group C did cave exploration while the rest of us were in group D did abseiling which were located at Kota Gelanggi. Abseiling was uber fun, it was also quite strenuous (for me!) The walls were rough and there were many vegetation growing all over it. Okay I can't remember the codings for the rope and the equipments and everything else so someone please enlighten me and I shall add it in. Yes the trainer was a weeny bit pervertic and his name was Ah-Teng (who proclaimed that he was a virgin.) Anyways, the experience was totally worth it though it was kinda scary at first when it's time to go down and there were times when I gripped the rope too tightly but in the end I managed to get down with all the encouragement from Ms Tan Kim Yok and Ms Camellia waiting below.
Unfortunately due to time constrain and the lack of harnesses used for abseiling, there were quite a number of people who did not get to try it which was quite a waste :(
Took a bus back to Tekam Plantation Resort and had dinner after a good shower :D After dinner (forgot what we ate), we had a night activity of creating a logo with an animal theme an a cheer, we also had to group ourselves into half which had to consist of both genders evenly. The activity was er kinda lame to put it nicely cause everyone were shagged state that they were not in the mood to do what they were assigned to do but they did so anyway (not that we had a choice)
After that we went to bed :DDDDD
DAY 3
Woke up and prepared ourselves for the day and went for breakfast (which was thank goodness prepared.) Then we departed for the day's activities with Group C doing Ear Cave exploration, canopy walk and rapid shooting and Group D doing water confidence, white water rafting, flying fox and river crossing @ Jeram Besu which was a 2+ hour sickening ride with the bus going fast and going leftttttttttttttt and righttttttttttttt yeah most of us get the drift and I couldn't help but to feel sicky, the others were dizzied by the ride too. Water Confidence consisted of 3 parts - floating on the river, jumping into the river and capsizing from the boat.
Floating on the river is just floating with the current of the river and the swimming back which was quite difficult cause the current was pretty strong and the water was freezing cold though the weather was once again sweltering hot like as though you're in the oven.
For jumping into the river part, we had to climb onto rocks like kampung children and then jump into the fast flowing river current like a superman (aka Superman Jump xD) It was once again fun cause the current was fast flowing and you got pushed far and fast!
Capsizing from the boat was kinda scary at first but we all managed to do it (but from the demos, many of us PANEEEEEEKED!) Overall the water confidence section was fun fun fun!
Up next we did white water rafting with 8 of us into a boat and rowed the boat for a good 6 km :D Rowing of the boat was tiring but it was helluva fun and the forestation around the river were beautiful and green~ Of course we were in the sun for quite some time and alot of us (who didn't bother to slather on sunblock like me! were sunburnt.
Soaking wet, hungry and shagged too, we sat on mini vans which drove us back to the Jeram Besu Resort and we had lunch (everyone there had to take lunch first, and no one was to eat OR drink till everyone took their portion and settled down.) Since it was a Friday, we had to wait for the instructors to readied themselves due to religious reasons and most of us (including me) fell asleep on the table till 2.30pm
After the nap we proceeded on to flying fox (no kick for me cause I thought it would be higher) but okay la some people might think it's scary and Dickson got to do the superman style PFFFFT! Took quite some time before everyone managed to do it and those who waited played with water (and sand) THEN THEN THEN! We did river crossing, all we had to do is 'pull' ourselves to the other side of the river (One person claimed we need MUSCLE POWER) All of us had a life vest so there was no swimming need, the bottom of the river was quite shallow until we got to a little to the end of the river bank THEN the bottom of the river was MUDDY! So super duperly muddy that your whole feet sinks into it, literally.
Shagged, kinda smelly and feeling really sticky, dirty and wet, we had a super quick shower at Jeram Besu and then we proceeded back to Tekam Plantation with most of us sleeping on the bus (not forgetting the TEENY WEENY LITTLE STREAM song that we often sang when we get on the bus) Shower & Dinner once again and then we had another night activity which was sharing of reflection and....(SOMEONE ENLIGHTEN ME I FORGOT!) We also had many 'bombing' sessions. '3h bomb, 3h bomb,3h bomb to 3i bomb!' Supper which was lovely ,sugary doughnuts! Then bedtime.
DAY 4
Wake up and prepared ourselves for the day, had breakfast and set off for activities once again with Group C doing what Group D did on day 3 and vice versa. Ear Cave smells oh-so lovely like a room full of dried urine and the bats were hanging peacefully on the ceilings and thank goodness no one disturbed them. It was also muddy (which were actually bats' poo :D) and the water inside the cave was FREEZING I tell you!All of us managed to SQUEEEEEZEEEEE and contort our bodies into teeny weeny passages just to get out (I still wonder how Hongji and Eugene managed to complete it=/) Alot of people smelt like bat poo but Cobe managed to say that I smell good when I came out :D LOL!
We had to walk back a SUPER DUPER long route of more than 500m in the forest with all the slippery mud and many many humongous ants having spasms on the forest grounds. It was tiring, the weather was once again lovely enough to make us sweat like nobody's business. Finally we finished walking the forest trail and took a boat back to the floating restaurant to have a quick lunch before proceeding to Canopy Walk which closes at 3.30.
The canopy walk was short but it was super duper high it was scary enough not too look down and probably those who have fear of heights would have peed in their pants. There were many sweat bees too which the guide explained to me that they love sweat (SONG YONG! YOU ARE LOVED BY THE SWEAT BEES!)
From the canopy walk we did rapid shooting which was the highlight of the camp cause it was so so so so so so so fun! Everyone got into sampans with motorboats (my group had a ROOFLESS one) and the guides all splashed us with water so many girls were screaming at the cold sensation. Everyone got to splash each other when the sampan was running and the river water never felt so good. The weather was beautiful (for once literally!) and the vegetation were lush~ and we even got to see orang asli who were tamed (according to Mdm Zahara) We didn't get to shower properly cause the facilities were like......er DIRTY! Shagged and many slept on the bus.
ADUH! OKAY EVERYONE'S TIRED GOT BACK,SHOWERED PACK,RAINED CAMPFIRE CANCELLED,EVACUATED FROM CHALETS BY BUSES TO THE DINING HALL,ATE,CHEERED,PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY,GOT ON BUS,TRAIN DELAYED BY 1 HOUR FROM 2.30AM TO 3.30AM,SLEEP,ARRIVED AT ICA,THEN TAJONG PAGAR AND THEN DISMISSAL.
The End of ACE Camp!
WHEWWWW I think this is the longest entry for this blog :D HAHAHAH! I took ALOT of time to type it okay! And yes I bet y'all are missing the camp, cause I'm missing it too.
